Karen Kertcher has been a Registered Nurse for over 30 years, having received her Diploma in Nursing in 1985 and a Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 1998. In addition to working as a front line nurse in acute care
and emergency, Karen has spent the past 21 years of her career in the world of Public Health working in various areas of Communicable Disease Control, currently as Case Manager, for Provincial TB Control, rural Alberta. Following this passion Karen obtained her Masters of Science in Infectious Diseases in 2017 through the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in the UK. She has been on the Executive Committee for the Alberta Association of Travel Health Professionals since 2014 and has a keen interest in health care in under resourced countries and joined CNFA in 2018. Karen will be joining our advisory board as an Infectious Disease Nurse Consultant.
